You may know Emma Alisyn as one of our fantastic Author Support specialists here at BookFunnel. She’s helped thousands of authors troubleshoot promos, build ARC teams, and get the most out of every newsletter swap. But did you know Emma is also a romance author with over 80 titles to her name?
This fall, she’s heading to Atlanta for the 2025 Moonlight & Magnolias Conference, happening September 25–27.
If you’re attending, you’ll have a chance to chat with Emma in person, ask your BookFunnel questions, and maybe even bond over your shared love of morally gray heroes and coffee-fueled late-night writing sessions.

Meet the Author Behind the Support Desk
Emma writes epic and sometimes spicy romance across several pen names, including Alisyn Fae, Sora Stargazer, and Allison Smith of Longbourn Lady. She’s a Black/white Muslim American mom of five who somehow juggles parenting, publishing, and power-reading her TBR with more grace than most of us can manage before our first cup of coffee.
When she’s not building morally complex worlds full of strong, multi-racial heroines and THADs (Tall, Hot, and Dangerous anti-heroes), you’ll find her vibing to K-pop, watching cultivation dramas, or succumbing to yet another beautiful special edition that appeared in her social feed.
If your bookshelves include names like Michelle Sagara West, N.K. Jemisin, or Nalini Singh, you will feel right at home in Emma’s fictional worlds. They are rich with family drama, slow-burn tension, and heroines who come into their own, well after their “ingenue” years.

From Niagara Falls to Atlanta
If Emma’s name sounds familiar, she and fellow romance author (and author support specialist) Kelli Tanzi also attended the 2025 Romance Writers of America Conference in Niagara Falls this summer. Between their talk on reader engagement and lots of one-on-one conversations, they had a blast connecting with authors and talking shop about BookFunnel.
