Welcome to this week’s Featured Feature, where we talk about cool stuff you can do on BookFunnel. Today’s feature: Certified Mail.
Certified Mail was actually our first real feature release here at BookFunnel, way back in 2016, and it’s still one of our most popular tools. It was originally designed for ARC (Advance Reader Copy) delivery, and that’s still the primary use today. Though, there are plenty of others ways our authors use it. Here’s how it works!
We take care of the emails
At its core, Certified Mail is a simple feature. You give BookFunnel a list of email addresses (presumably the readers on your ARC team), you tell us which book (ebook or audiobook!) to deliver, and we send an email to everyone with their book. Super simple!
But, not everyone is paying attention all the time. The world is a busy place, you’re busy, readers are busy, everyone is busy! So, we’ve made it really easy to set up a campaign one time and then just let it roll.
✅ Send your campaign when you want
Your email campaign can go out immediately, or you can set it for some future date. BookFunnel will handle sending out the emails exactly when you want them to go out.
✅ Send out automatic reminder emails
You can (optionally) send out a reminder email halfway through your campaign to remind readers to download and read their copy. This is a really popular option, and we find a lot of readers don’t download on the first email but catch up when they get the reminder.
✅ Schedule followup emails
You can also (optionally) send out a followup email when the campaign ends. Even weeks after the campaign ends. You can schedule the followup to go out on release day so that readers are reminded to post their reviews on the various platforms. When you create the campaign, you set the date you want followup emails to go out and BookFunnel will send everything automatically!
Sharing is restricted
With Certified Mail, BookFunnel limits how links can be shared with other readers.
✅ Everyone gets their own link
BookFunnel generates a unique, private download link for each reader on your list. Their link is just for them and can’t be easily shared with others. At the end of your campaign, the link expires and is gone.
✅ No public landing page
Since everyone gets their own download link, there is no single landing page out there where someone can share and get your book. Only the members of your team get a link.
✅ Downloaded files are watermarked
BookFunnel watermarks every downloaded file so that we can track who was the original reader of a book if they end up shared somewhere they shouldn’t be.
✅ Download data in real time
Easily see which readers have viewed their private download link and how many have downloaded the book.
Customize your email and download
As with all things BookFunnel, everything can be customized!
✅ Customize the contents of every email
You control the content of the emails your readers sees. The initial campaign email, the reminder, and the followup are all yours to play with. Use them to let readers know what you’re doing with your new book and what is expected of them as a reviewer.
✅ Customize your download page
You can even customize the download page readers see when they click through to get their copy. Change all of the text to suit your book, lay out your expectations for reviewers and thank them for being amazing, and note when the book is coming out. You can even customize the page with your own custom theme!
Where is Certified Mail available?
Certified Mail is available on all Mid-List BookFunnel plans and above. You don’t need integrations to use the Certified Mail feature since you’re telling BookFunnel exactly which readers are to receive your ARC!
